Practice Activities - see Calendar for details |
Weekly SittingsThe group holds sittings twice a week, on Sunday and Thursday evenings, at the group's Zendo in suburban Annerley. Sittings consist of a number of 30 minute periods of zazen (sitting practice) with short periods of formal walking practice (kinhin). Interviews and dharma talks are given on Sunday evenings.
Extended Sittings These are opportunities for longer and more intensive periods of sitting. They are held monthly on Sundays. Intensives and SesshinResidential and non-residential intensives and sesshin (retreats) of 2-6 days duration are held several times a year, either in Brisbane or at retreat centres outside the city. They follow a formal schedule of silent practice and other activities and are led by the group's resident teacher. Occasionally, visiting teachers are invited to lead sesshins.
Winter Practice Period This is a one-month period during which participants intensify their practice effort and take up a range of themed practices appropriate to their needs.
